PASADENA, Texas – The Pasadena Police Department and Texas EquuSearch are searching for Payas Rohit Deo, a 19-year-old UHCL student who vanished after leaving his house more than two weeks ago.

Payas left his home in The Reserve at Clear Lake around 8 p.m. on the evening of February 8, according to his family. When he pulled out of the driveway of their Peony Meadow Trail home, he would not be heard from or seen again.

“Talk to us. Call us. We are there to help you,” said his mother, Seema Deo.

His father, Rohit Deo, fears something terrible may have happened.

“We thought somebody would have kidnapped him, probably,” he said.

Authorities say Payas’ phone last pinged near his home, raising further concerns about his disappearance. His father believes he may have been taken against his will.

Rohit Deo: “Probably someone forced him into a car and took him somewhere. We do not want that. We do not want anything bad to happen to him.”

Gage Goulding: “Whatever happened to him happened against his will, you think?

Rohit Deo: “Yeah. It’s. It must be against his will. He definitely wants to come home.”

His parents reported him missing more than two weeks ago. The Pasadena Police Department and Texas EquuSearch have since joined the search. His family remains hopeful.

“We have faith. We are waiting for him every day,” said his father.

Payas is 5′7″, about 140 pounds, with a tattoo on his left forearm. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, red pants, white Nike Air Force One shoes, and diamond stud earrings. His car was found with bloodstains on the driver’s seat, and the driver’s side window was shattered.

Anyone with information on Payas’ whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Hawthorne at 713-475-4887 (work), 281-782-5512 (cell), or email chawthorne@pasadenatx.gov. Texas EquuSearch can also be reached at 281-309-9500.
