ASTROWORLD FESTIVAL TRAGEDY

In the hour-long documentary, KPRC 2 Investigates shares the stories of those who attended the festival, examines what went wrong and pinpoints what needs to be done to prevent another mass casualty incident in Houston.

The fallout of the Astroworld Festival garnishes a new potential agreement between Harris County and the City of Houston over their responsibilities at NRG Park.The consensus comes a little more than a year after 10 people lost their lives because of a crowd crush at the Astroworld Festival in 2021. For the last year, families watched as city and county leaders fumbled for answers to their questions of accountability.

After 38 on-camera interviews, and months of research, KPRC 2 Investigates will air “Astroworld: Countdown to Tragedy” this Thursday on KPRC 2+ at 6:30 p.m.

A Dallas law firm has filed a lawsuit against Live Nation, rapper Travis Scott, and other defendants on behalf of the family of Danish Baig, 27, who they say died fighting to save his fiancée during the crowd surge at the Astroworld Festival.
