SUGAR LAND, Texas – Police released surveillance video of a person of interest involved in the armored truck heist outside of a Sugar Land HEB that ended in a shooting, according to the Sugar Land Police Department.
The armored truck was parked at the HEB, located on University and Highway 6, around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday when a man reached into the vehicle, stole money and fled, police said.

As the suspect attempted to leave the scene, the security guard fired at least two shots, striking the front part of the vehicle.
“The security guard at that time opened fire, shooting at least two shots to the suspect’s vehicle as they made off, made out, made away into Sugar Land,” said Alicia Alaniz, public information officer at Sugar Land Police Department.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect’s vehicle was found and a search for two male suspects is underway.
On Wednesday, the police department has identified a person of interest but needs the public’s help identifying the person seen in this video.
