Friday’s Storm Chance:

A chance for showers and storms Friday. This is far from a wash out but there could be a few strong to severe thunderstorms north of Houston in Huntsville, Navasota, Brenham, College Station, Montgomery and Livingston.

Best chance for storms are north of Houston Friday

You might pick up a sprinkle after 10 am, with storms likely firing off in after 2 PM.

SE Texas could see light showers during the afternoon but storms begin to develop after 2 PM north of Houston.

Weekend Storm Threat:

A curious setup later this week will have most of SE Texas wedged between a strong area of high pressure to our southeast and a strong upper-level low-pressure cell in Arizona.

2/5 for SE Texas

For the next few days, that means windy conditions and a steady stream of Gulf moisture, leading to near-record heat and a very sticky afternoon each day. A series of cold fronts will then head across Texas, eventually bringing shower and thunderstorm chances to Houston by Saturday.

Showers and storms move along a cold front Saturday

Some storms could be on the strong side by Saturday evening. While the threat for flooding is low, there is still a chance to see some isolated storms that could produce some flooded spots.

Low flood threat for Houston Saturday

10 Day Forecast:

We started the week on a dry note—in terms of rain. Humidity will keep itself around and temperatures still reach the 80s as we watch for our next system to move in the back half of the work week.
