Summer is almost here, and the City of Houston is looking to hire young Houstonians to prepare them for the workforce. Looking for a summer job? Mayor Turner kicks off 2021 Hire Houston Youth Program
HOUSTON – Mayor Sylvester Turner, along with local business and community leaders, announced the application process is opening for the Hire Houston Youth program. The initiative helps provide summer jobs for young people ages 16 to 24. Positions will be available in government, the private sector and nonprofit agencies for year-round and summer opportunities. “I want everyone to remember that Hire Houston Youth is Houston’s promise to the educational and employment empowerment of our youth. We are building stronger bridges to assist in the transition from school to work,” said Turner.

KATY, Texas – Do you need a job this summer? Igloo Coolers has an immediate need for 'several hundred’ workers for their manufacturing plant in Katy. On Igloo’s Careers page, the company will be hosting a virtual job fair within the next two weeks. According to Igloo, Jobs are temporary for the summer season and include Blow Mold Machine Operators and Assembly Line Operators. No date has been set, but candidates interested in a job must fill out an interest form on the company’s careers website to receive more information on how to participate.
