The Houston Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is searching for fugitive Robert Trujillo, wanted in connection with a string of identity and mail theft crimes in Harris and Fort Bend counties.
Trujillo, a known gang member, is accused of stealing mail containing personal information from multiple victims in Sugar Land, Stafford, and Houston. Authorities say he currently has two felony warrants in Harris County and is out on bond in Fort Bend County for a separate mail theft case.

On May 7, Houston police arrested Trujillo and another suspect, Jason Lopez, at a Stafford hotel as part of an investigation into a large mail theft ring. During the arrest, officers recovered around 400 pieces of stolen mail, 40 credit and debit cards, fake and real IDs, stolen checks, and materials used to make counterfeit postal keys.
Court records reveal the theft ring targeted at least 40 victims across the area. Trujillo was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with fraudulent use and possession of identifying information and being a felon in possession of a firearm. At the time, he was already out on bond for a separate mail theft case from January 2025 in Sugar Land.
Now, federal officials say Trujillo is on the run once again, and they’re offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
Anyone with information is urged not to approach Trujillo and to contact the Houston Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 713-238-4499, referencing case #4505235-MT. All tips will be kept confidential.
