HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a 19-year-old man was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler on the Eastex Freeway in downtown Houston. A woman and child were also hospitalized.
The fatal crash was reported around 3:05 a.m. Tuesday at 850 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59)

What happened
Harris County deputies said a tan Cadillac CT4 was traveling northbound on the Eastex freeway when the vehicle entered the I-10 exit ramp and struck the concrete divider.
The Cadillac then reportedly went into oncoming traffic and struck a white Volvo 18-wheeler. The 19-year-old driver of the Cadillac was ejected.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old female passenger and 4-year-old girl in the Cadillac were transported to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in stable condition.
No other vehicles or persons were involved.
