Multiple charges have been filed after authorities identified two men they believe could be linked to the disappearance of a missing 15-year-old girl in Utah.

The first suspect was identified on May 10 as 37-year-old William Taylor Glines of Texas City. The second man has been identified as 35-year-old Matthew Nicholas Menard of Miami.

Both have been charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor and criminal solicitation.

Glines faces an additional charge of attempted aggravated exploitation of a minor.

Investigators believe that both Menard and Glines were in communication with Alisa Petrov.

Petrov was last seen leaving her school in South Jordan, Utah, on April 21. Police believe Alisa was attempting to meet individuals she met online through multiple social media platforms and chat applications.

She is still missing, and police will continue its efforts in finding her and follow other leads.

Texas City police joined the search with South Jordan PD after receiving a cyber tip through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

A Texas City PD source later informed KPRC 2’s Bryce Newberry that officials have found no evidence indicating that Petrov was ever in the Texas City area.

Background information

According to South Jordan Police Department, Petrov left her school and went to a convenience store where bought some items before boarding a southbound train to Provo, where she asked “multiple people” for help getting to Las Vegas.

Her parents said that’s the last place she’s known to have been.

“It was a nightmare. We have no contact with Alisa, which is very upsetting. She’s not using her social media that she was really attached to and that’s a big concern for us,” her mother, Olga Petrov, said, noting that her daughter used several apps.

“Please come back and whoever is holding her, they should probably just let her go because this is just really wrong, this is not right,” her father Nikolai Petrov said.

Last summer, the couple said they had a talk with their daughter about removing strangers who she had been communicating with on various social media apps.

FBI Salt Lake City confirmed to KPRC 2 News that they’re assisting South Jordan police with the investigation.

Alisa stands 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 122 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Alisa was possibly heading to Las Vegas, Nevada. She was last seen wearing baggy jeans, a gray “Harvard University” T-shirt, a black hoodie, and carrying a dark school backpack.

Her parents have set up a website about her disappearance.

“We’re really hoping Alisa will see our messages, Alisa will be home. We miss her a lot,” Olga Petrov said.

If you have seen Alisa or know her whereabouts, you’re urged to call 911 or your local police department immediately.
