The radar is working, but because of the outage at the NWS office in League City, it is unable to push out the data, watches, and warnings to other parties like news stations and apps that ingest their data.

Thankfully, the neighboring National Weather Service offices are helping push out watches and warnings.

Meteorologists are able to use other radar sites like Corpus Christi and Lake Charles, and Austin to track and monitor today’s strong to severe thunderstorms.

We want to ensure our audience is staying updated with the latest weather coverage to keep you and your family safe during the outage.

From weather watches and warnings and hour-by-hour forecasts to road conditions and preparations you should make at your home or office, here’s how KPRC 2 can help.

KPRC 2 has partnered with the Harris County Flood Control District to even better serve our community during severe weather events.

Stay weather aware: How to track Houston’s weather with KPRC 2

Our expert meteorologists have flood gauge maps they use to illustrate current conditions. When all the gauges are green, we’re in great shape. When gauges start to change to yellow and red, water is rising. This is an easy, visual way to see when and where people and property are most at risk of flooding.
