Kristen “Kiki” Galvan would have turned 21 Wednesday — a milestone that should have been filled with celebration. Instead, her family is still searching for answers about her disappearance more than five years ago.

Kristen went missing on January 2, 2020, when she was just 15 years old. Since then, her mother, Robyn Cory, has not stopped fighting to bring her daughter home. Her search has uncovered heartbreaking realities, including the possibility that Kristen may have fallen victim to human trafficking.

In a statement shared by Cory, she wrote:

“Today, my baby girl, Kristen ‘Kiki’ Galvan, turns 21—a milestone that should have been filled with laughter, love, and the joy of watching her step further into adulthood. But to us, she’ll be forever 15 until she’s home. The sparkle in your eyes and your laughter have brought me comfort over the years. I’ve missed so much—moments we should’ve shared, memories we should’ve made. But through it all, I’ve never stopped believing that the truth is out there.

“With each passing year and so few answers, the urgency grows. If you know something—anything—and you’re holding back out of fear or guilt, please know: it’s not too late. Coming forward could bring peace not only to us, but maybe even to you. If you saw something and have been too afraid to speak, know this: you are not alone. Your voice matters.

“For my daughter, Kiki—I love you. My love will never waver. I will never stop fighting for you. Too many years. Too few answers. Let this be the moment that changes everything.”

What happened to Kristen?

Cory’s unwavering commitment to finding Kristen has led her to expose the depths of human trafficking in Houston and the toll it takes on families. She’s called on anyone with information to come forward, urging those who may know something to speak out, even if fear or guilt has kept them silent.

In her quest for answers, Cory has been vocal about her frustrations with the legal system and the lack of support for families of missing persons. Kristen’s case, which was linked to human trafficking on Bissonnet Street in Houston, led to several convicted traffickers. Cory’s tireless efforts led to billboards and other outreach attempts, though her search for Kristen continues with few leads.

Kristen was once a Girl Scout and an honor roll student, but now, her mother recalls, she is forever 15 in their hearts. Cory has also spoken out about the lack of resources for child victims of human trafficking and has fought to ensure Kristen’s case remains in the spotlight.

Cory continues to advocate for victims, hoping her daughter’s case will inspire greater attention to human trafficking in Texas.
