HOUSTON – Authorities are trying to piece together what factors led up to a driver going the opposite direction overnight Monday, causing a deadly crash in northwest Houston.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. when Sgt. D. Rose with HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said they were called out to a major rollover crash on East T.C. Jester and Ella Boulevard. That’s where they found a jeep on its side and the unidentified driver suffering head trauma.
Preliminary evidence suggests the unidentified Jeep was going in the opposite direction on T.C. Jester and was speeding, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle and hit something before it landed on its side.
The impact from the crash caused the driver to get ejected from his jeep, who was not wearing his seatbelt. He died at the scene.
It’s only believed that speed was the factor and no evidence suggested alcohol, but Sgt. Rose said HPD will be investigating the crash for the next couple of hours. For that reason, police are asking
