The win allowed the Rockets to officially clinch the Southwest Division and a top six playoff seed in the Western Conference, meaning they won’t have to participate in the play-in round and will participate in a seven-game series in the NBA Playoffs. The clinch comes nearly two weeks after the Rockets first secured a postseason berth.
The Rockets currently boast a 50-27 record, good for their first 50-win season since the 2018-19 season. They will also be in the playoffs for the first time since the Mike D’Antoni-James Harden era in Houston, which ended following the 2019-20 season.
