HOUSTON – Two Houston police officers were seriously injured in a crash in Northwest Houston.
Investigators said the officers were responding to help another officer just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the officer driving tried to make a U-turn at the 610 North Loop and Ella Boulevard, but lost control and crashed into a pillar.
Both were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
One officer suffered broken bones.
The injuries of the other officer were unknown.
Both officers are new to the department.
“Both of them are 20 days shy of their one-year mark,” said HPD Lt. Horelica.
