Maj. Anthony McConnell says the toddler was playing when a driver came around the corner and didn’t see the child.
The child went underneath the vehicle and the mother of the child witnessed the accident. The child’s mother came and pulled the 3-year-old from underneath the car. Security cameras also captured the incident.
The driver, who showed no signs of impairment, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The child was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but the condition has since stabilized and officials believe there will ultimately be no major injuries in the long run.
