Man jumps from Tomball hospital parking garage after shooting at cops during chase

TOMBALL, Texas – A man who shot at police and then jumped from a hospital parking garage in Tomball was rushed to the hospital Thursday night.

Investigators said around 11:30 p.m. they received a call about a robbery near a high school. Tomball police then spotted a car matching the description from the call they received and a chase began when the driver refused to stop.

The chase ended at a hospital parking garage on Holderrieth Boulevard off Graham Street, where investigators said the unidentified robbery suspect started shooting at several officers before running away.

Officers did shoot back but no one was hurt, according to officials. The gunman is believed to have jumped from the parking structure, suffering serious injuries.

As a precaution, the hospital was placed temporarily on lockdown.

The gunman, meanwhile was last said to have suffered serious internal injuries and his weapon has been recovered.

It’s unclear what charges the shooter, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, will face but the case was last said to be being reviewed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
