Our KPRC 2 and UTMB athletes of the week goes to arguably the best backfield in the entire state. QB Cardae Mack and RB Tory Blaylock have terrorized defenses all year.
For head coach Craig Stump, it’s a luxury to have two top talents like that.
“You have a guy receiving the snap that’s hard to tackle. They both have 1000 yards rushing with around the same number of carries. We’re certainly not one dimensional,” Stump said.
It also helps that both Mack and Blaylock are close as friends and teammates and are supportive of each other.
“He’s a good player, it’s good having him in the backfield with me,” Blaylock said about his teammate Mack.
The feeling is mutual for the Eagles signal caller.
“He’s got the speed; I got the power and the elusiveness. We complement each other,” Mack said.
Congrats to both Eagle athletes!
