The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders are all that everyone is talking about in Houston private school baseball. The 'Saders are loaded up and down the lineup and are currently undefeated. But, it's time for district play.
THโE LIST: Cy Woods sits atop VYPEโs Public School Rankings
We are already halfway through the UIL Spring season. Time sure does fly. Cy Woods has had a tremendous tournament season and a quick start in district play. The Wildcats have a strong pitching staff and a balanced batting lineup. Class 6A Region III will be a battle between the likes of Pearland, Ridge Point, Tompkins, and a surprising Cinco Ranch as it stands now. Class 6A Region II is loaded with Cy Woods, Grand Oak, and The Woodlands, among others.
PROTECT THE NEST: FBCA Softball starts district play with a BANG
The seven-time State Champions, FBCA Softball is entering the second half of the Spring season with one mission in mind. Bring back the title. After the 2022 season, which saw the Eagles finish as a TAPPS-II State Finalist (fell to Legacy Christian), second-year coach Kelli Jacobyโs group has returned to the diamond with the ambition to go back to Arlington. Only this time they donโt intend to leave empty-handed.

Fortunately for Houston, there are numerous teams that show tremendous potential to reach that point.
HEATING UP: LSA gaining momentum amid district play
It would appear that LSA Baseball is delivering on its promise to โget back on topโ in the race for TAPPS supremacy on the diamond. The Pioneers have started off the Spring season like they were shot out of a cannon, winning nine out of their first ten games, which included an especially sweet series sweep over heated rival, Second Baptist, to begin district play.
INSIDE PITCH: VYPE Baseball Rankings, No. 1 Pearland Oilers
Pearland enjoyed another stellar season in 2022 under District Coach of the Year winner David Rogers (4th year-92 career wins), finishing first overall in District 23-6A en route to a deep playoff run in which they reached the Regional Semifinals.
HOT STREAK: TWHS Soccer returns to postseason after dominant year
The Woodlands High School Soccer has solidified itself as an established H-TOWN powerhouse, on the pitch. With yet another dominant season, boasting a 19-2-2 (W-L-T) record and an undefeated district record (14-0-2), the Highlanders have secured their fifteenth-consecutive District 13-6A Championship.
THE WRAP: Concordia Lutheranโs best of the Winter
Concordia Lutheran was a determined group, this Winter, on both the pitch and the hardwood. With the season finally wrapped up, it was time for TAPPS to dole out the private school props throughout the state of Texas, and as expected, several key figures of โSader Nation Winter Athletics were credited with the season recognition they deserve.

The Mustangs intend to ride back to the State Title game this season. Only, this time they wonโt plan on leaving empty-handed. Friendswood has garnered two-consecutive district titles (would have, likely, been three if not for COVID) and it doesnโt appear that trend will stop this spring.
THE WIND UP: VYPE Softball Rankings, No. 6 Katy Tigers
The Katy Tigers have made the Regional Semifinals in back-to-back seasons heading into 2023. Led by legendary coach Kalum Haack, who enters his 25th season at Katy and his 36th overall as a head coach, the Tigers could make another deep run in 2023.
UNDER THE LIGHTS: LSAโs Klein a State pole vault favorite
The most notable cause for celebration for the Pioneers during the annual LSA Night Under the Lights meet at Glassel Stadium was when junior Wilson Klein burst onto the scene in the Pole Vault event, earning gold (15โ 1โโ) while setting a new school record in the process.
Booker T. Washington HS shines bright on the basketball court
โItโs nothing we arenโt used to,โ HISD athletic director Andre Walker said. โWe have done this many times before in HISD, but itโs just been different teams. Now itโs Booker T. Washingtonโs turn. The district really feeds off what basketball is doing right now, and I hope to be making this drive to State in a few months with soccer.โ
Theyโre Back! Bridge City Softball has the look of a champion
Following last yearโs dominant season in which the Cardinals were undefeated district champs, there is no reason why a repeat isnโt in order. Throw in the fact that the majority of the previous roster remains, Bridge City is a Regional favorite.
FORE: Concordia Lutheran Golf earns silver at Rosehill Christian Tourney
Concordia Lutheran Golf is off to a promising start, which was showcased this week.In their third event of the Spring season, both the Girlsโ and Boysโ Golf teams traveled to Gleannloch Pines Golf Club in Spring on Tuesday for the Annual Rosehill Christian Tournament.
THE WIND UP: VYPE Softball Rankings, No. 7 The Woodlands Highlanders
The Woodlands was just one series victory away from punching their ticket to Austin a year ago. This was the Highlanders' first trip to the Regional Finals since 2017 and now they will try and punch through and reach the State Tournament for the first time since 2015.

TOMPKINS BASEBALL IS EMBARKING ON ANOTHER SEASON OF BALL. After finishing with the top spot in their district, followed by a three-round run in the UIL 6A Postseason, the Falcons are hungry for the opportunity to build on last season's momentum.
RECORD BREAKERS: FBCA Girls Track set new standards
It is almost becoming redundant at this point, but it seems that the rich keep getting richer at Fort Bend Christian Academy Track & Field.The Eagles made it clear that they wanted their performance at the Stafford Spartan Relays earlier this month to be memorable. Suffice it to say, they did not disappoint.
