HOUSTON – We have good news to share, Jim McIngvale, widely known as Mattress Mack, is out of open-heart surgery and doing well, according to his spokesperson.
“He would like to thank the community for their support during this time. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he focuses on recovery,” the spokesperson said.

KPRC 2 first reported that Mattress Mack, who is widely known for giving back to the Houston community during its time of need, was undergoing open-heart surgery on Tuesday after learning about it via social media.
McIngvale stated that he has a leaky mitral valve in his heart and had to undergo a four-hour open heart surgery at Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
On Tuesday, hours before the surgery, McIngvale posted a heartfelt video on Threads, thanking everyone for the well wishes and encouraging Houstonians to “buy lots of furniture at Gallery Furniture.”

McIngval’s recovery is expected to last for weeks as he’s expected to cover for about a week in the hospital and then return home to continue his recovery process for an additional two to three weeks.
