HOUSTON – As Jim McIngvale, widely known as Mattress Mack, prepares for open-heart surgery Tuesday, the Houston community has an opportunity to rally behind the man who has spent decades giving back.
McIngvale stated that he has a leaky mitral valve in his heart and will have to undergo a four-hour open heart surgery on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

After surgery, he says he is expected to be in the hospital for at least a week and then recovering at home for two to three weeks.
