Houston is bracing for another busy afternoon as severe storms are likely to fire up across the area through this evening.
Alerts:
- Tornado Watch for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, Washington and Wharton County until 4 pm.
- Flood watch for Burleson, Washington, Montgomery and Liberty County until 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Tornado Watch:
The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the region under a Tornado Watch until 4pm.
As the low pressure storm system that has been pounding west Texas slowly shifts east, our threat for both tornadoes and hail increase as more spin develops in the atmosphere.
In addition, no reason to think that we won’t see severe storms capable of dropping pea to ping pong size hail again just like Monday afternoon.
Make sure you have the free Stormtracker app downloaded on your phone and turn on the notifications on. They’ll let you know if there are new warnings, locations of severe storms and lightning geo-tagged to your location!
