Tonight’s Forecast:

HOUSTON – We’re actively monitoring the radar this evening, as a line of showers moves out of our viewing area up north in Houston County. The rest of the evening should remain relatively dry, but pesky cloud cover continues as we sleep tonight ahead of the Easter bunny’s arrival Sunday.

Due to the extra cloud cover, temperatures this evening will still be mild, only dropping into the lower 70s.

Easter breakfast should be mostly quiet - rain chances start picking up in the mid-morning hours. We’ll start the morning off with a 20% chance for rain and by dinner, we are ramping up to 70% as the cold front approaches. These storms have the potential to produce some gusty conditions around +35 mph!

It might be wise to have an umbrella handy, or plan for inside egg hunts for Easter Sunday. We’re not expecting a washout, but backup plans for indoor activities might be a good idea.

The good news is that it won’t rain all day on Sunday.

As the cold front slowly sinks into Houston, we’re watching for the potential of severe weather. It is a low, 1 out of 5 risk for storms to become strong to severe, but the risk is non-zero. The main threats we will be watching for include strong winds and hail.
