HOUSTON – Rain, rain, go away! Our weather team is tracking the chance for rain and gusty conditions this Easter weekend.
Easter Rain: How to plan breakfast, lunch and dinner
So, what are some fun indoor activities you can do with your kids to ensure an egg-citing Easter? Here are five ideas to keep the holiday hopping:
You can check radar here for the rain:
Indoor Easter Egg Hunt with a Twist: If you’re looking to make an indoor egg hunt more egg-citing, add a riddle into the mix. So instead of a wild egg hunt where kids search on their own, have them solve riddles to find each egg. This adds an element of fun and keeps the excitement high.
- Easter Obstacle Course: To help your kids burn off energy after enjoying Easter candy, create an indoor obstacle course. Build a “bunny hop” by jumping over pillows, test their balance by having them walk around the house with an egg on a spoon, or make a “chick crawl” by having them crawl under a table to hunt for small Easter treats.
- Easter Storytime with a Puppet Show: If your children love to read, share your favorite Easter book but add a puppet show element for a fun twist. It’s a fun way to enjoy reading and have a little fun with imagination.
- Easter Day Photo Shoot: Create a mini photo booth at home with bunny ears, eggs, and crafts. It’s a fun activity, and you’ll have precious memories to keep forever. ( I did that with my son and 18 years later - I still love the picture)
- Easter Movie Marathon: Cozy up for an Easter-themed movie marathon. Here are some family-friendly films to get you started:
- Hop
- It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown
- Peter Rabbit
- Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo
- Zootopia
