A low pressure will help push a cold front into Texas.
As the front moves east, it can bring strong to severe thunderstorms closer to SE Texas.
Saturday rain chances are very low for Houston, only around 20%, because the front is still west of SE Texas. That is the best chance for strong to severe thunderstorms to extend from north Texas into southwest Texas.
The chances of rain on Sunday increase to 60%. The severe risk is only 15% and the is focused mainly northeast of I-45.
This forecast still has a lot of uncertainty because models are not aligned with the front’s timing or intensity once it reaches SE Texas. Stay connected online and on TV as the forecast evolves.
