Will it rain on Easter Weekend?
We’re watching a Pacific storm that isn’t active but is part of a developing weather pattern.
Right now, it’s expected to bring heavy mountain snow and strong winds to Sierra Nevada and heavy rainfall for parts of coastal and southern California.
What does this mean for Houston?
The storm is expected to travel eastward over the next couple of days, and this means it could rain in Houston on Easter weekend—right now, we’re looking at 30%. However, if the storm shifts to the south, we could get even more rain. The closer we get to the weekend, the more we will be able to fine-tune the track’s location.
Hold on to your Easter Eggs!
You’ll want to hold on to your easter bonnets and easter eggs. We’re in between a high-pressure system and a low-pressure system. This creates a pressure difference (pressure gradient) and you get stronger winds as the air tries to even out the difference.
Bottom Line: We’ll continue to track for the chance of rain depending on the location, path, and timing of the Pacific storm. Plus, the pressure gradient between the high and low-pressure systems—which creates gusty conditions.
