Here’s why Friday’s cold front is a wimpy one

A cold front on the way but does it help Houston out?

Houstonians love to hear “a cold front is coming”- it’s like music to the ears, especially on hot and humid days.

A cold front is coming this, but it won’t do much for Southeast Texas.

The front arriving overnight into early Friday morning.

No rain as the front moves through early Friday

Here’s what will change:

Instead of seeing a drastic temperature drop - Friday’s high temperature is forecasted to be 82. That’s only 4 degrees cooler than Thursday’s high.

Friday’s temperatures are still considered above average.

Low to mid 80s

The slight increase in dew points built in Thursday will be pushed back down to bone dry behind the front.

But the lack of rain is what makes the front wimpy and unimpressive.

SE Texas hasn’t seen rain in days, but it will be needed to keep drought conditions at bay.
