Mid-week rain chances brings a chance for strong to severe storms north of Houston

Severe Storm Potential Wednesday

Wednesday, a stalling front will bring a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms.

Boundary will be the focal point for showers and storms across Texas through the Midwest

The threat is low - 1 out of 5 on severe risk levels.

The best chance for rain and storms stays north of Houston, impacting College Station, Madisonville, Trinity and north of Huntsville.

Southeast Texas remains on the fringe of severe weather

The chance for wet weather starts late afternoon and continues through Wednesday evening, but it is isolated. Storms that do turn strong or severe can produce gusty winds and hail.

However, the position of the front continues to keep the best energy well away from most of SE Texas.

Risk increased to 5/5 across Tennessee Arkansas and Missouri

Remember that the potential for severe storms depends on whether there is enough energy to break the atmospheric cap. If the cap is not broken, the environment will stay stable, and we dodge the threat of any explosive storms.

Showers and storms start in the late afternoon and continue through Wednesday Evening

The best potential for numerous severe storms is north of Texas.
