HOUSTON – The south winds are back, a little patchy fog has also crept back into the picture and a strong south wind will become breezy later on this afternoon. It also will aid in pushing temperatures back up into the low 80s.
On a scale of 1 to 5, it’s a one. The chance of SE Texas getting rain and thunderstorms is 20%. The majority of the storms will likely stay north across the I-20 corridor from Dallas to Shreveport.
If you’ve noticed that you’re feeling a bit sneezy and sniffly, we do have issues with tree pollen. Oak numbers are climbing for the first time this year. You may have noticed the cat tails falling from the trees. Ash tree levels are also elevated.
Friday night to Saturday morning severe weather threat:
A cold front moves into southeast Texas Friday night. This is a major storm system but we are on the very tail end of the cold front, therefore, we won’t see much in the way of storms or severe weather. Our far northeastern counties have a severe weather threat. Houston has a 20-30% chance of rain and possibly thunderstorms Saturday morning. The business end of this system will really affect large portions of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys, down to likely tracking tornadoes across parts of the Deep South.
10-day forecast:
The rest of the week will be warm, almost like an early taste of summer. Thursday and Friday we have a chance to tie record highs of 88° set in 1942 and 2008. St. Patrick’s Day weather looks good. Have a great Spring Break if you are on it next week!
