🥶 Cold advisory in effect into Friday afternoon for most of SE Texas

Clouds return ahead of weekend rain chances

Back to clouds Friday:

On Friday, sunglasses are not needed. Clouds will take over ahead of the weekend’s chance of rain.

We wake up to temperatures in the upper 20s. The National Weather Service issued a Cold Weather Advisory because the feels-like temperatures are only in the teens and low twenties. With the help of the cloud cover as we head into the afternoon, temperatures only reach the upper 30s.

Prepare for another night and morning below freezing. With bitter wind chills
No warmer than the 40s Friday.
Double trouble Saturday, cold and rainy:

We are tracking a coastal low-pressure area that will bring rain back to SE Texas Saturday through Sunday Afternoon. Saturday morning is still cold, with temperatures hovering in the mid 30s. High temperatures will only reach the mid-to-upper 40s.

Showers are spotty turning scattered Saturday morning
Keep the umbrella around, scattered showers continue through Saturday
10 Day Forecast:

After the brutal cold and a soggy start to Mardi Gras, southeast Texas will be rewarded with a stretch of sunshine and a warm-up. Break out the short sleeves as temperatures rise to the 70s next week.

We have just a few more days of this Arctic cold snap before we get a 180° flip next week and it will feel like spring again. Stay safe from the cold for the next few days.
