An Arctic cold front ushers cold air into SE Texas starting Wednesday morning, and below-average cold sticks around through the weekend.

Behind Tuesday’s rainy night – cold air pushes into SE Texas. Temperatures fall into the 30s by Wednesday morning the heaters will be running non-stop.
Wednesday the coldest air will be across Brazos, Washington, Colorado, Walker, and Grimes, where a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from Wednesday 3 AM until 10 AM.
The advisory means wind chills could be as low as 15 degrees. Dangerous cold if you plan to be outside for long periods overnight Tuesday and Wednesday morning. It can lead to health impacts like frostbite and hypothermia.
Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Chambers, Galveston, Matagorda, and Liberty wind chills range from the 20s to 30s.
The cold pattern continues Wednesday – Friday afternoon, with highs only reaching the 40s.
The coldest morning of the week is Thursday. National Weather Service issued an Extreme Cold Watch as many wake up in the 20s with wind chills in the single digits and teens.
The cold wind chills still linger. Thankfully, wind chills are not as harsh by Saturday and Sunday morning.
Next week is when Houston thaws out as temperatures climb to the 70s.
