Buckle up for another weather roller coaster this week, where temps will drop nearly 30 degrees from Tuesday to Wednesday with a potential for some areas to see mid-20s Thursday!
Tuesday’s Forecast
Tracking the storms:
You may run into a spotty shower during your morning commute. You will need the umbrella as rain chances increase through the after noon and evening.
Showers picking up around 12 in the afternoon before thunderstorms slowly starting to move in around 3 and picking up right before the evening commute.
Storms move out by 1 am and cold air comes rushing in.
Big cool-down:
Behind Tuesday’s storms cold air will settled in. An artic blast of cold air into SE Texas that will drop our morning lows down to the freezing mark for a few days. Lows for both Thursday and Friday morning will be below or near freezing, and daytime highs struggle to get out of the mid 40s.
A cold weather advisory has just been issued for Walker, Washington, Trinity ,Brazos and other counties west of Houston. The advisory is in effect Wednesday 3 am to 10 am as the cold front brings “feels like” temperatures 17-20. The bitter wind chills will move into the Houston and areas on the east side of the map by Thursday morning.
If you put cold sensitive plants out when we had the string of false spring 80° temperatures, you may want to either bring them inside or cover them.
You’ll also want to bring pets inside during those cold nights.
10 Day Forecast:
Saturday is our next chance for showers and storms. Temperatures will return to the 60s by the end of next weekend and we’ll even get to see the 70s return for the last week of February.
