Record-setting heat, patchy dense fog continues all week for Houston

Cool weather fans not so patiently waiting for February to return next week

Thursday’s Forecast:

Houston has broken record-high temperatures each day this week. This late-spring pattern has dominated our weather pattern this week and we may not be done with record-breaking heat just yet. This is the forecast highs for today:

We’ll keep that trend going for Thursday, as we could see a high of 84 which would beat the record from 2019. This will be a similar story every single day through Saturday.

Each morning expect another round of fog - watch for reduced visibility especially near the coast where sea fog has been relentless and will dominate the weather pattern through Sunday.

Sunday’s Cold Front:

The pattern changes next week behind a weak cold front ushers in cooler and drier air. Most of this cooler air has been bottled up across the far northern tier of the United States for almost a week and a half.

Sunday’s front looks like it will stall out before reaching the Houston metro. As it stalls, other fronts will come behind it and bring some rain chances increasing into early week. Behind it temperatures fall closer to normal, meaning highs in the mid-60s (which is what our mornings will feel like this week) and lows back down in the 50s.

10 Day Forecast:

Lows are in the mid-60s for the next week with foggy conditions. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 80s. It will feel muggy. A cool down and rain chance return next week.
