Friday’s Forecast:
Friday will be fantastic! We will have low humidity, light winds and sunshine! Our temperatures will be in the 60s with mostly sunny skies.
Weekend Forecast:
We’ll be tracking an additional front (a dry one so there won’t be any rain with it) on Friday evening that will bring a fresh push of cold, dry air for a chilly Saturday morning!
The official start of winter, the Winter Solstice, is Saturday. Saturday will also be the coldest day of the upcoming week with highs only in the upper-50s! Sunday we’ll be very seasonal with temperatures topping out in the mid-60s.
Holiday Week Forecast:
High pressure will keep sunny skies around through Monday, then another cold front will start to track into parts of Texas.
We are tracking a cold front that will bring in a chance for some showers and thunderstorms for Christmas Eve afternoon/evening.
As we’re opening presents and/or singing carols with some mule wine and egg nog, your intrepid weather team will be tracking this cold front that will likely swing through late Tuesday evening as Santa is getting ready to drop off presents.
We’re not seeing anything at this early stage that would indicate any severe weather, mainly just some noisy storms from generally 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. from north to south.
While the front doesn’t look too menacing, it does appear to be arriving in time for ole Kris Kringle to fly presents across most of greater Houston. Current timing has us stormy through the overnight hours. This shouldn’t be a problem at all with Rudolph on Santa’s team - they’ve traveled through much worse.
The rain and storms should move out before most of (hopefully) the kiddos get up Christmas morning to see what Santa has left them!
If this is the case, Christmas should shape up to be wonderful! We’ll have lower humidity behind the front and highs in the lower-70s. It will be mild and merry!
We’ll keep tracking the changes for this forecast through the rest of this week and into the weekend, so make sure to check back as there will be updates to get you set for the holiday!
10-day Forecast:
Our weather will be wonderful this weekend with sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s. We will warm up slightly next week which means there’s a 0% chance of seeing a white Christmas. Our temperatures look to stay above average as we approach the end of 2024.
However, the forecast will likely adjust over the next few days so expect to see some changes as we get new information. The good news is for now we’re still forecast to be below our warmest Christmas. Our warmest Christmas was 83° in 2015.
