HOUSTON – Heads up Fort Bend County!

We’ve got multiple road closures happening this weekend. Roadwork on the Northeast side will also impact your drive if you plan to ride on the Beltway.

Fort Bend Co. Closures

Due to the Fort Bend County I-69 Brazos River Bridge project, several lane closures will take place throughout the weekend. These closures will begin Friday, August 23 at 9 pm and continue through Saturday, August 24 until 5 pm.

Closures include:

  • I-69 (2 Outside Lanes) Southbound from University Blvd to SH-99 Lanier Pkwy/FM 2759
  • I-69 Southbound Frontage Road from University Blvd to SH-99 Lanier Pkwy/FM 2759
  • I-69 (3 Outside Lanes) Southbound Frontage Road from Wallingford Ave to University Blvd
  • I-69 (U-Turn Lane) Northbound Frontage Road from Riverbrook Dr [This closure will only last until 3pm Saturday]

Sam Houston Tollway Closure

According to Harris County Toll Road Authority, Sam Houston Tollway Northeast Plaza roadwork is ahead of schedule. As crews continue to work on the progress, drivers can expect a closure this weekend.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Northeast Toll Plaza will be closed in both directions Friday, August 23 at 10 pm until Monday, August 26 at 5 am
  • Both entrance ramps will reopen Monday, August 26
