Three Brothers Bakery is celebrating its 72nd anniversary this Friday, June 18th by offering all of their cookies for 72¢ each at their original location, 4036 S. Braeswood Blvd.

Three Brothers has managed to stay open, but the same can't be said for roughly 2,000 kitchens in Greater Houston. Unlike Three Brothers Bakery, The Breakfast Klub, a downtown soul food favorite, did have to cut staff. In Houston’s restaurant scene, high value is often placed on innovation, novelty and newness -on the trendiest restaurant, the most unique dining experience or the latest foodie fad. His children own and operate the only Christie’s restaurant location still operating. Texas barbecue legend John Davis and his wife Leila opened the historic Houston restaurant in 1935 as Shepherd Drive Bar-B-Q. The eatery still operated out of its original location, situated at 7006 I-45 South at Woodridge. Following the success of its original location, several additional locations followed and a local fried chicken empire was born.

Three Brothers Bakery co-founder Sigmund Jucker dead at 98

Sigmund Jucker, one of the original founders of Three Brothers Bakery, died Friday. Located on Holman Street across from Temple Beth Israel, the siblings renamed it Three Brothers Bakery, according to Jucker’s obituary. Around the year 2000, Jucker passed the business on to his eldest son, Robert Jucker, according to the bakery’s website. Sigmund was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Jucker and Bertha Siegel Jucker; his sister, Janie Rudy and his brothers, Solomon and Max Jucker. He is survived by ex-wife Edith Jucker, his sister-in-law Estelle Jucker, children Robert Jucker, Susan Goldberg and Michelle Jucker, five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

HOUSTON – Three Brothers Bakery 2020 presidential cookie poll is now open. “We are having fun with the Presidential Cookie Poll for the third time, and it has always had great voter turnout,” baker Bobby Jucker said. Three Brothers Bakery will keep track of the race on its Facebook page. Our election cookies are once again in-stock as Election Day is fast approaching. Three Brothers Bakery has three stores in Houston located at 4036 S Braeswood Blvd., 12393 Kingsride Lane and 4606 Washington Ave.

But that doesn't mean all hope is lost, as Houston's food community has proven to be a strong one.
