The next week looks pretty quiet in the weather department for Houston although it will be warm.

Temperatures are heating up across the region this week.

Memphis’ water company has lifted a boil-water advisory for more than 600,000 people that was in place for five days due to freezing temperatures that caused pipes to break throughout the southern city.

The Houston Marathon is the city of Houston’s largest single day sporting event with over 250,000 volunteers, spectators, and runners. All those people are impacted by the weather because the races go on rain or shine.

With Sunday’s strong cold front blowing through southeast Texas, Houston and the surrounding areas are seeing the temperatures begin to fall.

Can you imagine trying to take a cold shower on a 100-degree day in Houston and all you get is a sprinkle of water from a shower head that just spits at you?

Houston – After a record-breaking Thursday, temperatures hit 85 degrees at Bush Airport, unseasonably warm weather continues. A cold front on Sunday will usher in chilly mornings and mild afternoons.

The weekend is expected to bring dangerous temperatures to our area. The heat index is hovering over heat advisory territory. Temperatures in the afternoon will be the most dangerous and families need to be prepared. Temperatures on Thursday hit 98 degrees, the highest temperature this year. Next week, temperatures will be in the mid-90s with chances of afternoon showers.

HOUSTON – Southeast Texas residents woke up Wednesday to freezing temperatures, and it will be even colder Thursday morning. Temperatures dipped to 29 degrees in Houston on Wednesday morning, but they're expected to dip even lower on Thursday. Several Southeast Texas counties were under a hard freeze warning. "There's also a small chance of rain on Sunday if those lows hit us in the right spot," Yanez said. Texas Department of Transportation officials are also getting ready for another night of freezing temperatures.
