That cool water cools the air and when air cools, it condenses. The graphic from the NWS gets confusing when we get to the dew point temperature because no one seems to quite get that. I see the difference between the actual temperature and the dew point temperature is 2° to 5°, then fog development is possible by morning, especially if the winds are light. This looks like the forecast for the next couple of mornings, so get used to hearing about the dew point!
