Marshall: The Thundering Herd were shut out for the first time since 2000 and for the first time at their home stadium. The Thundering Herd had been scheduled to play at Florida International the same night, but Conference USA announced Saturday that the game has been canceled.

Kowalczyk tested positive on Sunday and will self-isolate for 10 days, he said in a statement. Four players and three staff tested positive last week, and Wasps hasn't trained since last Wednesday for its first appearance in the final since 2017.

However, Marshall opened the second half on a 16-1 run to take a 39-32 lead with 13:26 left to play. Nigel Spikes came off the bench to grab 10 boards for Marshall in just 17 minutes as the Thundering Herd won the rebounding battle 43-40. Marshall shot 57.6 percent (19 of 33) in the second half, after shooting 31.3 percent (10 of 32) in the first half, and forced 15 Houston turnovers. Leon Gibson led Houston (12-14, 4-9) with 17 points.
