The Houston area medical assistant accused of assisting an illegal abortion at a Waller County medical clinic has posted bond and has been released from Waller County jail, according to court records.

Maria Rojas’ attorneys got their first chance to address the claims against her Thursday. She was released on bond but a judge ordered the clinics to remain closed.
