HOUSTON – Police are investigating a shooting they said left a man 30-year-old man dead near a hotel Monday night. Police said the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. at a Greenspoint gas station located at 17600 Wayforest Drive. According to officers, the victim was behind the gas station when a man wearing all black with a mask walked around the corner and shot him. “A man wearing all black, black male with a mask, walked around the corner and just shot him,” said Lt. WL Meeler with the Houston Police Department Homicide Unit. Officers said there were other people in the parking lot during the shooting and are asking them to come forward if they have any information.

HOUSTON – A 12-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting at an apartment complex in the Greenspoint area. The shooting happened around 4:40 p.m. Saturday at the Salado at Cityview apartments on Greens Road near the Hardy Toll Road, authorities said. When they arrived, authorities said they found a woman, 50, on the bedroom floor with multiple gunshot wounds. However, after further investigation, authorities learned information that conflicted with witness statements and they identified the witness as the suspect in the shooting, police said. The boy was taken into custody and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

This is the seventh site being run by United Methodist Medical Center that has been opened in the area. “We know that we are testing to save lives,” Jackson-Lee said.

HOUSTON – An Amazon employee is convinced management isn’t being transparent about the number of coronavirus cases among employees. Amazon declined to provide an exact number of employees at the facility. Bott said Amazon stopped specifying the number of new cases, only announcing the existence of new cases. At last count, he said there were more than 20 confirmed COVID-19 cases among employees at the facility. But, he does not believe a severe threat exists for Amazon customers.

Nicole Harrison, 30, has been charged with kidnapping after police said she took her ex-girlfriend’s son, sparking an Amber Alert. Prosecutors said she took her ex-girlfriend’s 10-year-old son to a motel near Greenspoint yesterday without the permission of his mother. The child’s mother told police her and Harrison had been together for eight years up until five months ago. The child’s mother said he called Harrison “dad” all of his life. The child told his mom he missed Harrison and wanted to see her.

A stray bullet pierced the wall of his home, entered his bedroom, went through his temple and exited his forehead, he said. But the story does not end there, the gunfire continues in the Greenbriar neighborhood of Greenspoint. The trouble appears to originate from an oddly empty, never developed street behind Sanchez’s home called Little Fox Lane. Sanchez said that weeks ago he filled out the appropriate City of Houston paperwork to get streetlights put in. On Friday, KPRC 2 called District B Houston City Council Member Jerry Davis to inquire about the addition of street lights in that neighborhood.
