Christmas in Florida: Chilly forecast, falling iguanas

Morning lows on Saturday could drop into the low 30s and 40s degrees Fahrenheit, the weather service said. Much colder temps expected for Christmas," the National Weather Service in Miami tweeted earlier this week. A squall line with severe storms and fast-moving winds also was headed for north Florida on Christmas Eve. The pandemic also was impacting a Space Coast tradition โ Surfing Santa Day, which takes place the day before Christmas.
Reporterโs notebook: KPRC 2 reporter Rose-Ann Aragon covers historic SpaceX Demo-2 launch
COCOA BEACH, FLorida โ It is difficult to put into words the feeling of unrelenting anticipation and an electric energy in the air of a different kind--excitement. All week, KPRC sent photojournalist Jeovany and I (Rose-Ann Aragon) to cover this historic moment from Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach for viewers and readers in Space City--the home to human spaceflight. Wednesday by 3:33pm (Houston time), Cocoa beach was packed, many tried to maintain social distancing by wearing masks and staying away from other people. From the Cocoa Beach beach front I spent hours reading Elon Muskโs biography (Itโs a good one!) I could only imagine what was going through peopleโs heads the seconds that we all at Cocoa Beach couldnโt see what happened right after the liftoff.
