Several grocery stores in the Greater Houston area, including H-E-B, Mi Tienda, Central Market, and Joe V’s Smart Shop, are temporarily adjusting their hours due to an impending winter storm.

Many area grocery stores will remain open on Thanksgiving Day.

Luckily some Houston-area stores will be open on Christmas Eve for that final rush, whether you need that final ingredient, or need to pick up a whole meal, or even a Christmas gift

It’s not every day that you prepare a feast as big as a Thanksgiving dinner, so it’s easy to forget something. Half-and-half. Butter. That pesky can of cranberry sauce.

H-E-B is giving out reusable bags on Friday for Earth Day.

Beginning at 1 p.m. on April 22, customers who visit any H-E-B, Central Market, Joe V’s Smart Shop and Mi Tienda in Texas are eligible to receive a complimentary Earth Day bag made from recycled plastic bottles. Bags will be distributed while supplies last.

A late winter storm has blasted the U.S. Northeast with strong winds and heavy snow, sending temperatures plunging after first taking aim at the Deep South.

Christmas Eve and day fall on Friday and Saturday this year.

Easter is Sunday, April 4.

HOUSTON – Ingredients:2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts6 HEB Fresh Veggie Kabobs½ cup Rustico Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive oil (divided)2 tablespoons Adams Reserve House All Purpose Rub2-4 tablespoons Adams Reserve Holiday Rub¼ -1/2 cup Central Market 4 Leaf Aged Balsamic VinegarDirections:1. Butterfly or pound chicken down to even thickness. Place in a large sealable plastic bag, drizzle with ¼ cup olive oil, and shake in Holiday Rub to coat.
