"It's definitely a good way to end my high school career." AdEarle is the second Bearcat to win the prestigious award- the first being Johnathan Gray who won the award back-to-back in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons. In his senior season, Earle finished with 87 carries for 591 yards and 12 touchdowns as well as 61 receptions for 1,007 yards and eight touchdowns. Those numbers allowed the star to finish his high school career at Aledo with over 5,000 yards and 66 touchdowns.

And when Aledo responded with a long TD throw to Alabama-commit Jojo Earle, Crosby responded again to go up 14-7. From there, it was all Aledo, which used a six-touchdown day from Demarco Roberts - 3rd most all-time in a 5A state title game - to turn a close game after the first quarter into a blowout by halftime. In the end, Aledo cruised to a 56-21 win to secure its state-record 10th title - 3rd straight overall. What you see above is what Roberts did all day to the Crosby defense.

Aledo started their reign of championship titles in 1998 where they defeated Cuero by a score of 14-7 in the Class 3A Division I title game. Missing the 2015 title, Aledo pulled ahead in 2016 to edge out Corpus Christi Calallen by a score of 24-16. With the wins over Fort Bend Marshall in 2018 (55-19) and again in 2019 (45-42), Aledo has set the stage hopeful for a second three-peat. Cleaning out the locker, picking up trash, blocking, and tackling… that's what we talk about instead of winning state championships.

Ironically enough, this wasn't the strongest Aledo team, and despite being near the top of the 5A DII state rankings all year, there was a consensus that this was the year Aledo's run to state would end. Not the case, and now Aledo is gunning for a state record 10th state championship. In the regular season, Aledo averaged a solid 44 points per game but somewhat struggled to really find an identity on offense. But then the playoffs hit and Aledo has turned it on offensively, relying heavily on the run game during this run.

After losing said receiver and three others, the question was how Locke would fair with an entirely new receiving corps. Locke only passed for 424 yards accounted for five total touchdowns on night against Denton Braswell. In 15 games last year, Locke averaged nearly 300 yards a game and 3.5 touchdowns. Friday's game was just more of the same from Locke, who could be the best junior quarterback in the area.
