HOUSTON – The Texans waived veteran offensive lineman Nick Broeker, according to a league source.

Broeker is a former Buffalo Bills seventh-round draft pick from Ole Miss who played for the Texans for the past two seasons.

Broeker (6-foot-5, 305 pounds) played solidly in spot action for the Texans, who have overhauled their offensive line and have considerably more depth now.

Broker played in a career-high nine games last season for the defending AFC South champions.

Broeker is a former second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection.

He has played offensive tackle and guard.
