Texans release former Texas A&M defensive tackle Jayden Peevy

HOUSTON – The Texans released former Texas A&M defensive lineman and Bellaire graduate Jayden Peevy,

Peevy spent last season on their practice squad and was signed to a reserve-future deal.

Peevy is a 6-foot-5, 308-pound former Tennessee Titans undrafted free agent signing.

He has also played for the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns. He has played in six career games, four last season for the Panthers and has a career-high six tackles with one forced fumble and three quarterback hits with 1 1/2 sacks. He has played 84 defensive snaps, 32 percent of the total defensive playing time.

At Bellaire, Peevy was an All-American selection who was ranked the fifth-best defensive end in Texas as a senior.

For the Aggies, he finished his career with 137 tackles and 7 1/2 sacks in 58 career games. He participated in the NFL Players Association Collegiate Bowl. He was given the Aggies’ “Mr. Dependable” award.
