Grant (6-foot-4, 331 pounds) won a national championship with the Wolverines. The Merrillville, Indiana native was a two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection.

Grant declared early for the draft after recording 32 tackles, 6 1/2 for losses, three sacks, and two fumble recoveries.

Grant got down to 339 pounds after playing at 359 pounds as a freshman. He had 29 tackles, five for losses, 3 1/2 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups two seasons ago.

Playing in every game in his career, Grant finished with 69 career tackles, 11 1/2 for losses, 6 1/2 sacks, three fumble recoveries and one interception.

At the NFL scouting combine, Grant ran the 40-yard dash in an impressive 5.07 seconds with a 31-inch vertical leap, a 7.65 three-cone drill, a 4.76 short shuttle, an 8-9 broad jump and 27 bench press reps.

He met with the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots at the combine in formal meetings.

“A lot of pride,” Grant said at the combine. “We always pride ourselves to stop the run first and that gives us the ability to rush the passer. It goes hand in hand.

“I’m a three-down player, for sure. I can rush the passer with my strength and a little bit of finesse in there. Most guys think I’m just a run stopper, but I’m super athletic and can rush the passer.”
