Collins has been dealing with a minor calf injury that sidelined him at his campus Pro Day workout, but he is expected to be ready for rookie minicamp after the draft. He’s a projected second-round draft target and some NFL personnel executives believe Collins could wind up being the top interior defensive linemen, down the road, of this rookie class.
In his final season for the Longhorns, Collins started every game at defensive tackle and had a career-high 55 tackles, 5 1/2 for losses and one sack with seven passes defensed and one blocked kick.
Collins gets high marks for athleticism and an ability bat away passes and anchor at the line of scrimmage.
He has 34 5/8 arms and 10-inch hands.
