HOUSTON – The Texans conducted some business Monday, the same day the players cleaned out their lockers and headed toward an offseason of rest and training.
Several players from the practice squad agreed to sign reserve-future contracts, meaning they’re now on the 90-man limit offseason roster.

They signed running back Jawhar Jordan to a reserve-future deal, per a league source.
Initially signed to a four-year, $4.185 million contract that includes a $165,436 signing bonus, Jordan was selected 205th overall after rushing for 1,128 yard in his final college season and leading the ACC with 13 touchdowns at Louisville.
In 2022, the Syracuse transfer rushed for 815 yards and four touchdowns. He had a 134-yard rushing game against Boston College and had a 75-yard touchdown catch and a 40-yard kickoff return.
The Texans also signed former New England Patriots running back J.J. Taylor to a reserve-future deal, per a league source.
Taylor (5-foot-6, 185 pounds) is a former undrafted free agent from Arizona where he was an All-Pac-12 selection and Offensive Freshman of the Year.
Taylor has rushed for 200 career yards and two touchdowns and caught eight passes for 20 yards with 114 total return yards. He has been with the Texans the past two seasons. He rushed for 44 yards on 10 carries this season.
That included former Los Angeles Rams seventh-round draft pick and Clemson offensive guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr, per a league source.
The Texans agreed to an offseason deal with defensive end Solomon Byrd, who was drafted in the seventh round out of USC, released and spent the entire season on the practice squad with one elevation for the regular-season finale win over the Tennessee Titans.
The Texans added wide receiver Johnny Johnson III, a former undrafted free agent from Oregon, to the offseason roster for the third year in a row, per a league source.
The Texans signed wide receiver Xavier Johnson, a former Ohio State player where he was teammates with quarterback C.J. Stroud, was signed to a reserve-future deal, per a league source.
The Texans signed former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Gregory Junior to a reserve future deal, per a league source.
The Texans are signing former Texas A&M defensive lineman Jayden Peevy to a reserve-future deal, per a league source.
Former Los Angeles Rams safety Russ Yeast, a former Louisville player who has also played for the Arizona Cardinals, signed a reserve-future deal with the Texans, per a league source.
The Texans also signed quarterback Kedon Slovis and cornerback Anthony Averett to reserve future deals.
Slovis played collegiately at USC, Pitt and BYU.
Averett is a former Baltimore Ravens fourth-round draft pick.
