ANGLETON, Texas – We ventured south down Highway 288 to Brazoria County for a stop at football powerhouse Angleton to meet this week’s standout athlete.
Wide Receiver J’Shun Sanders has been a mainstay in the Angleton program and is making his senior season one to remember. After 14 weeks, the Wildcats sit 13-1 and are in the semifinal round in Class 5A Division 1.
They will take on Smithson Valley on Saturday afternoon at Baylor’s McLane Stadium in Waco.
“This is my last ride so I have to give it my all and give it all with my teammates and help keep Angleton on the map,” said Sanders.
When Sanders is on the field there’s no question with his leadership that he’s another coach between the lines.
MORE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK RECIPIENTS
His Head Coach at Angleton Jason Brittain is a big fan!
“He has a great attitude all the time and is always in a good mood. J’Shun’s always a player who steps up and when his number is called he’s always ready,” said Brittain.
“He embodies what our team is all about.”
When asked to describe his style and what he brings to the table every day Sanders was clear he embraces being a leader on the Wildcats team.
“I’m a team player and we all just play together and ready to compete. “Every day we have to attack it. Every day could be our last for all the seniors,” said Sanders.
Congrats to Angleton’s J’Shun Sanders, our UTMB Health Athlete of the Week!
