HOUSTON – The Houston Astros are recalling infielder Grae Kessinger to the major league roster, a league source told KPRC 2 Sports. Outfielder and 1st baseman Cooper Hummel has been optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land as the corresponding move, per source.

Kessinger is known for his defensive versatility, and ability to play all four infield positions. He has 11 at bats in 2024. Kessinger has hit .283 with a .743 OPS in Triple-A Sugar Land this season.
Hummel received 8 at bats in his time with the Astros, and will join the Space Cowboys, where he’s among the team’s leaders in hitting, batting .301 with a .932 OPS at the Triple-A level.
