The Houston Astros are calling up Trey Cabbage, a league source tells KPRC 2.
The outfielder and first baseman is being added to the 26-man roster as a replacement for first baseman Jose Abreu, who was optioned to West Palm Beach to correct swing issues that have led to a start where the former league MVP is hitting .099 in April.

The Astros used Cabbage as the 27th man in Mexico City, where he went 1-for-2 with a an RBI double in Houston’s Saturday win over the Colorado Rockies.
Cabbage is a .218 career hitter with 1 home run and 8 RBI in 55 at bats between the Los Angeles Angels in 2023 and Astros this season.
